Road trippin'

Since we had a 3-day weekend, I decided to go on a super last minute road trip to Nauvoo. It ended up being super fun. I didn't take nearly the amount of pictures I usually do, but here are a few. The weather there was rainy, but it prevented it from being super hot which I enjoyed.
Also, we were lucky enough to catch the first show of the season put on by the performing missionaries. Basically they do a bunch of songs, skits, dances, etc, after the fashion of pioneer entertainment. It was pretty well done, and those kids were super talented!
We came back to the hotel to find this little buddy perched on our doorknob. I was impressed with his skill in being able to keep four people from entering! No seriously, we made it okay, and I thought he was kinda cute.
My favorite part of Nauvoo - the temple!

Dance update

Be careful when you are dancing.
I may have smashed my toe against the doorframe in my hall, and I may have parted with most of my toenail...

And by may, I mean that it actually did happen.

Sometimes you have to dance

Have you ever just had an urge to dance for no reason? Actually I get that a lot. It's because I have no roommates to object to me playing loud, awesome music! Haha. I actually have to blame a former room-mate for starting the "interpretive dancing" movement at our old apartment. I just think of what I do as a tribute to those days. Yeah, definitely have interpretive dance moments in the kitchen for no reason! (The neighbors must think I'm so weird...) Enjoy some of my new favorite dance songs.

It's also very therapeutic. If you don't watch Grey's Anatomy, they are always dancing when they are in a bad mood and can't solve their problems. I love it.

Dance it out!

Cause it's Friday, Friday...

Well I had an eventful weekend. As Seniors we get a couple of extra responsibilities, such as taking home the emergency phone. This means you carry around a cell phone that public safety calls when there is a patient with a dental emergency. I was lucky enough to have it this Thursday and Friday... Believe me, not so lucky because I got several calls. It was a little bit stressful, especially since I ended up needing to bring a patient in. (Most of the time we are able to take care of them over the phone, until they can make it in during regular clinic hours.) Interesting, to say the least. I even had nightmares about it on Friday night!

Saturday I attempted to go to the zoo with a friend, but the parking lot was so full we opted out. We found a cute little mini golf course instead, which ended up being a blast! Who knew I would actually like mini golfing - and that I would be moderately good at it. The rest of the weekend involved movies, and random drives around Omaha. Said drive ended in a phone call to the police about some kids lighting fires in the local elementary parking lot! Yeah... the fire department ended coming out, but I think the kids took off as soon as they heard the sirens. Haha, seriously.

Sad news

Okay, total dental nerd alert!

I was cleaning out my locker at school today, and I probably have 50 plus casts - like the ones above - stashed in there. (Don't worry, these casts are mine so I'm not breaking any HIPPA laws.) Most of them are labeled, but a few of them were not, and a few belonged to patients I had never heard of because the previous student had saved them for me. Funny story, I discovered I could totally tell whose they were just by looking at their teeth! And yet sometimes I have trouble remembering people's names... Yeah, that's just sad.

Turkey crossing

I was driving down the street today, and was stopped suddenly by wildlife in the middle of the road. This random turkey just decided to wander across the street, so I honked at him. Haha!

Also, yesterday while driving I totally ran over a bird! Um.... never done that before. There were two birds fighting so they were apparently too distracted to notice me coming up the street. Well, one of them lost big.

Prom - again!

Who says Prom is just for High School? Not me, apparently!
Here at Creighton, all of the graduate schools have Proms - dental prom, law prom, and medical prom. Yeah, so I was lucky enough to make it to two of these events. Check out my dress for Med prom!
Yeah, ask my friends and they will tell you I love any excuse to dress up. Even if the event is cheesy, or I'm totally overdressed! It is also fun to go to random places - like WalMart - dressed up fancy. (No, we didn't go to WalMart. We did however make it to the pedestrian bridge and a McDonald's!) Um yeah, I took absolutely no pictures other than these. However, I know people out there took pictures, and maybe I'll hunt them down one of these days!

Freedom!

1. Free from Finals! Oh yeah baby, definite cause for celebration. Our finals actually started about a month ago. Within the last two weeks we probably had nine finals. Eh, whatever.

2. Free from school/clinic for five whole days! Wasn't that generous of Creighton? Ha ha, well we will actually get a longer break come July. This is really just transition from Junior clinic to Senior clinic. Oh yeah, I will officially be a Senior come Monday! I'm pretty excited about that, but a little intimidated because I need to hurry up and figure out what I'm going to do with myself after school.

3. Free from Nebraska. I took advantage of the break, and flew on down to Cedar. It was super nice because I managed to book a flight directly into Cedar. Normally I fly into Vegas, which requires a 2.5 hour drive, so this was especially fancy! Now I'm just chilling with the brothers, trying to convince them to entertain me. Actually Nebraska isn't so bad this time of year, but it is nice to not worry about real life for a couple of days.

4. Free from braces!

Yeah, they totally came off last Monday. I actually had a scheduling conflict, and I had to practically beg someone to help me out so I could go to my ortho appointment. Totally worth it! Guess what I was most excited about? I was able to bust out my Sonicare toothbrush for the first time in a year - I love how easy it is to brush my teeth now! Anyways, I am glad I did the braces thing, but I'm so glad to be done with them. Here is a before and after if you care.

Moving on

Okay, I'm sick of those picture posts. Mostly because some of the requirements start getting really weird, or repetitive. Whatever, new month, new topics! That's really all I had to say, mostly because I don't have any interesting pictures to post at the moment. Maybe tomorrow!
