Cinemaphile

Hi I'm Ashley, and I like movies.

I admitted it!  Rather, I boasted it, because I'm pretty proud of this.  Honestly, if you didn't know that about me, then I don't think you actually read this blog…  Anyway, on my list of top favorite things to do, watching movies, quoting movies, dressing up as characters, reading books, and going to the theater rank pretty high on that list.  Another thing, I love purchasing movies.  Thanks to one of my many quarks, I like to collect and organize my movies - by genera and alphabetically.  However, I was looking through one day, and it was a little bit sad to realize that I've got multiple un-opened and unwatched movies lurking in my DVD shelves.  I decided to pull them together, just for fun.

The collection November 9.
Yes my friends, I think that I have a problem.  However, since taking this picture I've actually opened and watched/played a good number of these items.  I just think it's funny that I'll buy a movie not necessarily because I'm going to watch it that night, but just because I like amassing a collection of movies!
My fantastic movie library!
I watched a bunch of the ones previously in the unwatched/unopened stack, but I still have quite a few. I totally updated the photo today.  To be fair, I've added a bunch even within this weekend!
With my new office down in American Fork, I've been commuting over an hour a day (about 45 miles).  To keep myself from going nuts during the drive, I've gotten really into podcasting.  One of my new favorite podcasts is called Filmspotting, a podcast all about movies.  Basically they will review a new movie, then do a top five list of a somewhat related theme.  For example, they've done top five Disney villains, top five movie missives, top five films of 1989, etc.  It's introduced me to a whole host of movies I've never seen, as well as reminded me of a bunch that I haven't seen in a long time.  Hence the Lake House, and Back to the Future purchases.  That's right, I've totally got a movie marathon on the horizon!  If you'd like to join, well just come on over.
